I’m Julianne.
I’m glad you’re here.

I live in Florida with my pastor husband, Brad; our dogs, Kaylee and Clyde; and our cat, Kat Middleton. I have a Master of Arts in Christian Spiritual Formation and Leadership. I am a trained and certified spiritual director and love sitting with others as they deepen their awareness of God’s presence and movement in everyday life. And I have a passion for words - reading words, writing words, speaking words, and God’s Word. Most importantly, I love connecting with and helping others remember God's presence, love, and call in the middle of it all. Welcome :)

Why Remembrance?

As people of faith, we are called to remember. We see examples of remembrance all throughout Scripture.

  • As the Israelites were wandering in the desert for 40 years, they were continually called to remember God’s faithfulness.

  • Throughout the Old Testament, we see God’s people build altars and mark and name particular places to commemorate and remember God’s presence and all God did for them there.

  • During the Last Supper, while Jesus and His disciples were celebrating the Passover (which, by the way, was also a form of God’s people remembering), He introduced them to Communion or Eucharist. As often as we eat the bread and drink the cup, we remember Jesus. His life, death, and resurrection and all that it means for us today.

  • And the very last message Jesus had for His disciples during the Great Commission was “Remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Clearly, Jesus didn’t want us to forget. And clearly, Jesus thought we might struggle to remember.

I know I am often anxious, distracted, and prone to forget. And that is why I think reminders are so important. Just as the practical reminders in our lives {appointment reminders, Facebook birthday reminders, calendar reminders, post-it note reminders} keep us on track and help us seemingly hold it all together, reminders of our faith give us hope, bring us peace, hold us steady, and help us live into and become the people God calls and invites us to be.

Those reminders are the heartbeat behind everything I offer.

Fun Facts

  • If we were grabbing coffee together, I would be sipping an almond milk latte {iced in the summer}.

  • I grew up in Orlando, FL and at one point auditioned to be a Disney princess at the theme parks. I made it to the top 15 and then was cut. It was amazing.

  • I’ve been inside a pyramid in Egypt.

  • I’ll always choose the window seat.

  • Fall {the season} is my favorite.

  • The beach is also my favorite {or being by any body of water, really}. It calms me down and lifts me up.

  • I like somewhat simple music. Give me a vocalist with their guitar or piano and some well-crafted lyrics and I’ll probably love it.

  • INFJ and 4w5.

  • Rather than a morning or night person, I’m a mid-day person. Lunch time is my best time.

  • Macrina Wiederkehr once wrote, “O God, help me to believe the truth about myself, no matter how beautiful it is.” That has been my most recent personal prayer and it is literally changing my life. Amen.
